Spring One on One with God classes are starting February 2nd.

Evening class will be every Tuesday for 12 weeks from 6pm - 8pm.

Morning class will be every Tuesday for 12 weeks from 10am - 12pm.

One on One Christmas Party

One on One with God had our Christmas party! We had a wonderful time getting to know each other and the Holy Spirit during our 12 week class! Thank you to all the beautiful ladies who committed to taking the course. I pray that your life is blessed beyond your imagination!

God Poured In - We Poured Out

It is hard to believe our Fall studies are over. It was an awesome six-weeks of learning and growing. We challenged each other and were filled to the brim as God poured out His blessings upon us.

As God poured into us, we couldn’t help but pour back out into the community. The Monday evening class filled box after Birthday Angel box for the children of the moms at the Women’s Shelter. The Tuesday morning classes’ filled box after Moving Out box for the women who able to move out of the shelter.

Thank you for Paula Powell and Lauren Gomez. Their talents and love are endless.

Needless to say, it was a very successful semester. We look forward to kicking off our Winter semester around the second week in January. Be on the lookout for more information and until then keep seeking Him and serving His people!

CCCF Fall Festival

I got to represent Bay Area Fellowship JANES Women's Ministry at Corpus Christi Christian Fellowship's Fall Festival! Marva Leavell -- pastor's wife and women's minister -- has a heart for women's ministry across all denominations, and she allowed attending women in ministry to make announcements for their church at the conference. I talked to the women about the JANES Glo Conference on March 4 & 5 and our discipleship program!

Thank you, Marva, for your desire to see women grow in Christ!

Jane's Studies are Rockin'

Our Fall Bible studies are rockin'! God is moving and we are seeing miracles in our every day lives. We are proof that God moves in miraculous ways when women come together to seek Him and encourage each other.

It has been a joy to see each of our studies partner up with Jane's ministries that give back to the community. Our Bible classes, along side WINGS, have served the BAM and Moving On projects by partnering with the Women's Shelter of South Texas.

As God pours His love, mercies and restoring powers into us our natural outflow should be to pour back into God's people. I am honored to share this journey with you as we grow to know more about our God and His people. Spring Semester for One on One with God

One on One with God is a discipleship study that will help you cultivate an intimate relationship with God. This study is a tool that will guide on your path to an abundant life with Christ. If you have a desire to know God more but feel like you don't know where to begin, this study is perfect for you! We are planning studies for the spring 2010. EnJOY~A Thirst-Quenching Look at Philippians
A women’s study offering an enduring biblical perspective on the meaning and source of true joy. Participants will learn that the reality of everyday life can erode the feeling of happiness – unless a foundation of joy is already in place. And such a foundation comes from seeing life through God's perspective. Author Tianne Moon leads participants in a verse-by-verse look at Philippians where they will discover keys to the joy of daily living in Jesus Christ.

See Jane Grow This Fall

Girls, I’m so excited that you are ready for Fall Bible Studies. I have loved each email and call where you have asked, “When are we starting again?” Well, it’s just around the corner! Please make sure you attend the Janes Expo, September 26-27 where more information will be available. Come over to the See Jane Grow table and sign up for one of our awesome studies.

Classes will begin Monday, October 5, 6:30-8:30pm and Tuesday, October 6, 9:45-11:45am. Each class will run six weeks and end the week before Thanksgiving. Childcare will be provided. Many of you know that I’ve just completed writing my second Bible study “I’m a Fixer-Upper ~ A Day-by-Day Remodeling Guide.” It will be released this month, and I am looking forward to teaching it this Fall on Tuesday mornings. Thank you so much for encouraging me through this process. I can’t wait to share it with you. Just remember, you can be fixed up when you are fixed on God!

Other awesome studies lined up for this fall are “Me, Myself, and Lies ~ A Thought Closet Makeover” by Jennifer Rothschild, which will be led by Paula Powell on Monday evenings. INTRODUCING TWO NEW LEADERS!

I am so excited to announce that Alene Snodgrass will be taking my former responsibilities as our "SEE JANE GROW" Coordinator. She will oversee our Bible studies from now on. As of September, Alene will be a twice-published author of her own Bible studies. She has an amazing story and a gift for teaching and communicating God's truth in a relevant and encouraging way. You're going to love her! She'll be at the SEE JANE GO Fall Kick-off Party ready to meet you!

Alisa Wagner is returning to the Janes Leadership Team to coordinate our quickly-multiplying One on One with God groups and to help us with some exciting new things that I will share with you later! I'm so glad to have her back!

Now There's a Beauty!

What an amazing semester we have had in Janes Discipleship! We just finished four classes of "Beauty by the Book" by Laurie Cole at 4 out of our 5 Bay Area campuses and we have seen so many beautiful women attending, learning, growing, encouraging one another and serving one another each week! We have also seen many leaders emerging, ready to take the next step in their journey with the Lord!

I know that as a direct result of this study, women's lives have been changed. I have personally seen evidence of marriages radically changed, women equipped with wisdom to handle very difficult situations in their homes and work environments, moms challenged and equipped to set Biblical standards in their parenting to make a difference in the next generation, and women finally finding their place faithfully serving the Lord at Bay Area Fellowship.

If you have not participated in one of our Janes Bible studies before, we hope and pray that next fall, you'll be the first in line to sign up! Be watching for EXPO 09 dates to be announced very soon. At EXPO you'll be able to find out about all the ways you can plug in to Bay Area Janes next semester.

We'll be taking the summer months off to rest and prayerfully seek God's plan for next year! Pray for us and with us and as always, contact us with any questions or ideas you have about Bay Area Janes Women's Ministry.

New Bible Studies Begin!

Hey Girls!
We are beginning Laurie Cole's "Beauty By the Book" Bible study this week at two different times! Join us for one of the best ways to know God more intimately, to make friends, and to experience the kind of change that others can see in you!
It's not too late to join us at the main campus at one of these times:

Monday Evenings from 6:30-8:30 pm beginning March 23

Tuesday Mornings from 9:45-11:45 am
beginning March 24

Both groups will meet at the church upstairs in the Element Student area. The cost of the 7-week-class is $20 and you will receive your book when you arrive. There will also be free childcare by reservation!
This study focuses on the difference between the world's view of beauty and God's description of a beautiful woman in the book of Proverbs. It's a great study for someone who's never done a Bible study before and equally appealing for someone who is a seasoned student of God's Word. Feel free to email me with any questions you have!

Spring Bible Study Sign-Up!

This is the last weekend (January 24-25) we'll have a registration table in the atrium for our Spring Bible Studies. Please come by if you'd like to sign up or have any questions. We've already had a great response and we're very excited about this semester! We also plan to start some other studies later on in the spring, so be sure to watch for those too!

Don't be afraid to take this step even if you've never participated in a Bible study before. Usually at least 50% of our participants are first-timers. This is one of the best ways to really begin to KNOW God intimately and to form close relationships with other women in our church. And studying God's Word gives you the strength and wisdom to change and overcome struggles in your life. I have seen so many women transformed by God during our six weeks together! I can't wait to see what He has in store for us this spring! I'm already praying for you!

Fall Bible Studies Coming to a Close

We have been having some amazing times together studying God's Word. I have been praying and believing God for spiritual breakthroughs as we come to know Him more intimately, and He has been answering my prayers!

We have two weeks left in all three of the Bible studies located at the church, and our three "One on One with God" groups are going strong and will be finishing up later.

I'm hearing great stories about you girls who are participating and I'm so thankful that God is speaking and moving in your lives!

Thank you so much for serving as Pastor Bil encouraged us to do last weekend in his message. You have cooperated to feed the crew that set up our new stage, and to feed the precious women at the Christian Women's Job Corps. Each time, there was more than enough food. I can't thank you enough, and I know the Lord is so pleased with your hearts of service and generosity!

You are reflecting Christ beautifully! "We can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord, and as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him, reflecting His glory even more." 2 Corinthians 3.18.

I hope you all had the chance to attend Janes EXPO '08 this past weekend. It was fabulous! I had the opportunity to visit with many of you at the Fall Bible Study table and I am so looking forward to getting started next week!

 Many of you know that I’ve been writing my first Bible study this year and plan to teach in the fall. Thanks so much for asking me about it when you see me – I so appreciate your encouragement! It’s coming along very well, and I can’t wait to share it with you very soon! When you think of me, please continue to pray that God would use this study to get His message across to His women at BAF and that we would be changed as we study! I am believing God for a beautiful display of His power in our lives – His power to transform our character, to heal our wounds, to restore our relationships, to help us live in increased intimacy with Him and others! “For we Christians have no veil over our faces, but we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord, and as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him, reflecting His glory even more.” (2 Cor. 3.18) I’ll be posting more details later – so watch the blog for updates!

Thank You, Lord!

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain." I Cor. 15.58

Seventy beautiful women were steadfast over the last few months in studying how to discern God's voice and making themselves available to Him - a perfect combination. God spoke and women were ready to obey and big things happened in answer to our prayers. I have had the privilege of hearing many of your stories and have felt overwhelmed by the power and the mercy of our Father demonstrated in your lives. You were good soil, and the seed of God's Word in your lives has produced "much fruit." I know the Lord is so pleased.

"The Power of a Positive Mom" study is still finishing up - if you'd like to join them for the last few sessions, you can find more information in the Current Bible Studies section to the right.
